White Oak is the oldest cemetery in the town of Mena, that I know of. It is located at Eve & Averitt Streets, on the west end of town. This cemetery was hard hit by the tornado that came through Mena April 9, 2009. Many stones were damaged and most of the large trees were taken out.
Directions: From Highway 71 & De Queen St. in Mena, turn North on De Queen, go one block and turn left onto Janssen Ave. Follow the road (crossing Highway 8-Reine St.) and continue on until the road dead ends into Eve, left on Eve 1/2 block. There is an entrance on Eve and one on Averitt. (I'm doing this from memory, and will check to make sure my directions are correct.)
These photos of tombstones in White Oak Cemetery were taken in March 2009, before the tornado in April 2010.

Three of these photos were taken after the tornado. The sign for the cemetery can be seen on the corner, under the tree. This was the oldest part of the cemetery. The back section, known as the Old Soldiers Cemetery, was hardly damaged. Part of this cemetery was sold to the Catholic church and it became known as Mt. Calvary Cemetery. That cemetery was also damaged, but not as heavily. White Oak had lots of very large trees and most of them were destroyed in the tornado. Many stones were broken or destroyed.
